Our Mission

The Museum of Urban Art is dedicated to presenting urban art for people in the New York metropolitan area, and particularly for the residents of Queens, a uniquely diverse ethnic, cultural and international community.

The Museum fulfills its mission by designing and providing urban art exhibitions of well known as well as unknown urban artists to promote the appreciation and enjoyment of graffiti art, murals, urban sculpture and other forms of urban art.  The museum aims to support the creative efforts of artists, and enhance the quality of life through interpreting, collecting, and exhibiting urban art.  The Museum of Urban Art also aims to decrease stereotypes and increase appreciation of urban art forms.

The Museum of Urban Art presents urban art that directly relate to the contemporary urban life of its constituents while maintaining the highest standards of professional, intellectual, and ethical responsibility.
